OREO - Floptok Account

On August 19th, 2024, I started a social media page called OREO (@hellohittymlg). In roughly one year, the account has grown to over 120,000 followers, reached more than 75 million views, and generated 10 million likes, 4.4 million shares, and 1.7 million comments. While I never expected this kind of response, the experience has been less about the numbers themselves and more about what I have learned through creating and sustaining the project.

The videos are intentionally satirical and humorous, yet they require genuine planning and preparation. I stage scenes within Roblox, select camera angles carefully, and use effects to amplify comedic delivery. This process has helped me understand how short-form videos can function as micro-stories, where rhythm, pacing, and editing are essential to sustaining attention. Over time, my work developed noticeably early clips were raw and improvised, while more recent ones show sharper timing, layered sound design, and more deliberate scene construction.

Beyond technical skills, the account has taught me consistency and audience awareness how to keep producing while adapting to feedback and building a community around creative work. Although OREO thrives on satire, it also reflects my ability to commit to a concept, refine it through practice, and connect with viewers on a large scale. For me, the project revealed how digital platforms can serve as experimental spaces, blurring the boundaries between entertainment, art, and performance.
